Other pandemics in addition to COVID-19

There have been other pandemics apart from COVID-19.
I am very critical with the management of the current COVID-19 pandemic, and with the closure that has been carried out in 2 countries, Spain and Italy, where the entire population has been locked up and an economic crash has been caused. But is that there have been other pandemics not many years ago and acted differently.
In 2009, the swine flu caused by the A (H1N1) virus appeared. With symptoms similar to current ones. It took 1 year to create the vaccine. A total of about 18,000 people worldwide died. And in no case were extreme measures like the current ones taken.
In 1957 the Asian flu appeared, causing a public health challenge, the pandemic especially affected children, schoolchildren, adolescents and young adults, coinciding with the grouping effect of the school stage after that first summer. Hence, one of the most pronounced peaks of the epidemic was registered in October 1957. Between January and February 1958, there was a second pandemic wave that affected mainly adults.
The Hong Kong flu, influenza A virus subtype H3N2 originated in 1968 and spread rapidly to other countries, but in 1969 it was controlled with a vaccine, leaving one million dead.
With this I want to show that it is not the first time in modern societies that we have experienced pandemic flu and the freedom of people has never been limited. Controlling the sick and preventing the spread of the disease is logical, but not with measures of confinement and closure of businesses and economic activity. Also 2 countries Spain and Italy that have not yet managed to overcome the economic crisis of 2008.
