The awaited moment has arrived. The Boeing 737 MAX returns to flying with passengers more than 20 months later . While waiting for the first flights to arrive in Europe and the US, already authorized , the Brazilian airline Gol has been the first company to resume its commercial flights with the revised Boeing model.

Flight G3 4104 has left the Sao Paulo airport bound for Porto Alegre . A journey of just under two hours that at the time of writing these lines has just reached its destination.

Since March 2019, when the Boeing 737 MAX caused two accidents and 346 deaths, this model had not been used on an official flight. To this day. Celso Ferrer, Gol’s VP of Operations, explains in a statement that ” we have followed the most intense safety review in the history of commercial aviation . Safety comes first.”

Brazil’s largest airline expects the 737 MAX to perform seven flights before the end of the year. Additionally, the Gol spokesperson explains that they have 95 additional Boeing 737 MAX orders that are expected to be delivered between 2022 and 2032.

From services such as FlightRadar24 or Flight Stats you can check the status of the flight made. Without greater relevance than by being the first to use this aircraft again.

Before reintroducing the Max-8 into GOL’s fleet, the airline gave a course to 140 of its pilots, in conjunction with Boeing and following the plan approved by the FAA and ANAC, the corresponding US aviation agencies and Brazil. Prior to this first commercial flight, Gol carried out different technical flights to check multiple requirements.

In the United States, the first commercial flight with a 737 MAX is scheduled to take place on December 29, by American Airlines.
